In my late 20s and I’m tall. During the summer my usual spot is overrun with high-school kids. Some of these kids are decent and can score well, but defensively? Their bodies are too small and uncoordinated to stop me. I kinda enjoy playing those games because I leave feeling like how Lebron feels when he plays the raptors.

I’m in my mid twenties, unathletic, short, never played pro basketball. I do sometimes go and play pick up games with the kids on the playground. I’m confident to say that i am able to dominate 10-12 year olds like Lebron. Once played one on one against a 14 year old. I bested him but it was super close, i am more of an Al Horford than a Lebron against 14 and up.

In college there were these old guys at the gym who would play pickup and always run the young kids off the court. They were just so fundamentally sound, knew how to play team defense, and could all shoot superbly well. You’d play them getting all excited by their lack of athleticism and then they’d shit on you. Good times.

Let’s see, I’m in my early 20’s, I played all the way through highschool, I’m in pretty good shape, but I’m only 6’0. With all that in mind, probably like 11-12 year olds. Anything older than that, there would be some kids who would be significantly bigger than me.
I could be competitive with high school players, and I often handle them at the gym, but I wouldn’t dominate like Lebron at that level.

I’m 6’ as well. And can confidently say that even if I played against 13-15 year olds, there would not be hardly anyone my size, more or less “significantly” bigger.

Is “dead” an age group?
I’m 6’2″, but I’m also 400 lbs and shredded my knees in high school and college through various sports injuries. I’ve still got a lot of raw strength, but absolutely no endurance at this point. What cardio I ever had is basically gone, and, to be honest, I really just need to get up off my ass and get back into the habit of going to the gym because I can make it up and down the court strictly once before I’m gassed.
I’m in my mid-20s.
